From the Grau Roig car park we will cross the chairlift departure area and head towards the restaurants. There are already signs there for the Grau Roig ski-touring circuits; we will follow the Pessons one, which is marked with red and white painted poles. This circuit will take us to l’estany Primer, which we will skirt along the south shore (or cross, if it is well covered by snow), to position ourselves on the valley floor. Here a long, gentle climb begins along the floor of the circ dels Pessons, leaving some rocky steps on our right. Before reaching l’estany del Cap dels Pessons, we will turn and come back along the north side of the cirque, skirting l’estany del Meligar, l’estany Rodó and l’estany Forcat, to reach l’estany Primer again. From here we will descend by the same route we climbed. This route can be done in the opposite direction, and is ideal for snowshoeing.
