From the Grau Roig car park we will cross the chairlift departure area and head towards the restaurants. There are already signs there for the Grau Roig ski-touring circuits; we will follow the Pessons one, which is marked with red and white painted poles. This circuit will take us to l’estany Primer, which we will skirt along the south shore (or cross, if it is well covered by snow), to position ourselves on the valley floor. Here a long, gentle climb begins along the floor of the circ dels Pessons, in which we will leave some rocky steps on our right. We will leave behind a first wide, obvious couloir, la canal de l’Àliga, and, past the pic de l’Àliga, we will look for the next obvious couloir, la canal dels Isards, facing NE. The couloir has slopes of between 35° and 40° along its whole length, and an ice axe and crampons will be needed to reach the col. Once at the collet, we will turn left and tackle the summit from the back, on fairly gentle slopes. The descent is made by the same route.
