From the Cubil de Grau Roig car park we will cross the chairlift departure area and head towards the restaurants. There are already signs there for the Grau Roig ski touring circuits; we will have to follow the Montmalús one, which is marked with posts painted red and white. The climb starts gently through the Colells forest until we reach a flatter area, where we will turn right. Once we have passed a small step, we will already be in the valley that leads us directly to the Montmalús pass. On this stretch, depending on snow conditions, ski crampons may be necessary. From the pass we will ski down, bearing right, to approximately the 2,550 m contour, where we will have to put our skins back on to climb the rib formed by the old moraine. We will follow this rib, which will take us to the foot of the pas Alt de Ríbuls. To reach the col we will have to cross a short section with slopes steeper than 35º; it is advisable to go along the part on our right, where the slope is a bit less steep. From the col we will continue over gentle terrain towards the northwest as far as the entrance of the canal dels Isards. This couloir has slopes of between 35º and 40º over the first 100 metres, and although we usually find it wind-scoured and with little snow, we will need to be alert if we spot wind-deposited snow or after snowfalls. We will keep descending through the circ dels Pessons, trying to lose as little height as possible until we reach the estany Primer, and from there, along the pistes, to the car park.
