We will park the vehicle in a small widening of the road 100 m before the junction of the track that leads into the vall de Montaup. We will cross the prats de Montaup and cross the river by a bridge. We will climb diagonally through the bosc de la Canya heading east and follow the pala del Llempo to the serrat de Roques Grosses. We will follow the serrat to the pic dels Isards (2,468 m). On the way back, and if snow conditions allow, we will continue along the cap de la serra for about 800 m to the serra dels Estanys and ski down to the left towards the clots d'Encarners. We will follow the gully along the right bank of the river to the prats de Montaup and the road where we left the car.
